• Burberry Body – Beauty Editor’s Review

Burberry Body, the new women’s fragrance from Burberry, hits the shelves of FragranceMad from today. I was so excited when a review sample landed on my desk as Burberry Body is long anticipated and has been in development for years.
First impressions are good, Burberry Body comes packaged in a tall, elegant bottle with a jewel like top – this will look stunning on anyone’s dressing table. Burberry said they wanted to create a ‘sensual and feminine…modern and delicate’ fragrance and I think they’ve succeeded.
This is a floral fragrance at its finest. The rose aspect is immediately apparent without being overwhelming, and this quickly blends with other floral notes to blend in to a warm, woody mid note. It is feminine, sophisticated and romantic but not fussy or overbearing.
Burberry has done a wonderful job at developing such a good all round fragrance. If you’re going to be a winter bride this year this could be the perfect romantic, sensual fragrance for your special day. But equally, maybe you just want to treat yourself to a brand new fragrance that you could wear to a special meal, out for lunch or to work to make you feel fabulous. Burberry Body would be perfect for almost any occasion or situation.
The thing I like the most about Burberry Body is the warmth and depth of the fragrance; this is a wonderful scent for autumn. I can imagine spritzing it on, then wrapping up warm to go out on a cold day and then catching wonderful wafts of this deliciously feminine warm scent in the cold winter air. The fragrance smells as if it was made to be worn with this season’s warm knits, cosy tights and luxurious scarves.
If the perfume has one downside, it is that it’s not quite ‘edgy’ enough for night time clubbing or parties. It depends on your taste but I love a really deep, sensual perfume for evenings out on the town – think Dior Addict or Calvin Klein Euphoria. Burberry Body wouldn’t quite cut it for me on these occasions, but other than this, it is a definite all-rounder that I’ll definitely be treating myself to and wearing all winter.
Who would I recommend Burberry Body to? Anyone who likes feminine or floral fragrances who wants to feel as though they have been wrapped up in a luxurious, warm, pretty scent. As a guide, if you liked Chloe 2008 or Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely you’ll like this.
